Sara Woster | September 17 – October 28

My paintings used to feature many blue skies, hopeful landscapes and other hints of a world at
peace. Lately my work is full of complicated, and often anxious, landscapes, animals and people. The
more recent paintings are either too crowded or too lonely. I struggle to find a happy medium as I
paint a world where nature, man and technology struggle to co-exist. And now the blue skies are
often teaming with predators and the landscape they fly over is a world full of prey. But my job as a
painter isn’t to always represent beautiful things, sometimes my job is to exorcize myself by putting
the ugly, strange and scary things out there without worrying about what people think.
